the fear hymen

so many i know, myself included, have this small twinge of somethin that crops up just before you submit a post, piece of art, or even before you go to have a hard conversation. that small little somethin that makes you pause—just for a second. do you want to say it? do you want to do it? do you want this thing, those words, YOUR opinions, YOUR visions out for the world to see?

...there’s a pause for some, even if just for a second.

my friends you found the fear hymen.

that small, thin wall that must be broken for SOMETHING to happen. but that feeling like we’ll be causing something to happen...the fear of a reaction towards or against what we FEEL or BELIEVE for our OWN selves. what may cause this triggering pain can be something monumental and important. but it can also be as small as walking out of your front door.

an actual hymen can wear down overtime without you even noticing. similarly, we say things do things without pause. but sometimes it can take that singular moment—when expression, lets call it, is about to take place. when we know something is going to be big. that thin wall triggers that pause, that fear. it may hurt for just a second..and maybe a couple seconds after too.

but is that small little somethin we’re feeling ours? is that wall ours? that block? did we put it there? or was it there already? did someone put that wall up? or did we put it up because of them? whatever the reason, that wall, that block, that FEAR HYMEN needs to be pierced.

SHIT I’M A LITTLE NERVOUS. oh hunny, don’t worry about it. that little bit of fear is a sign that courage is here too just behind you. let courage give you a cute little push through that oh so very thin layer, a VEIL IF YOU WILL, of fear. the build up of what will happen on the other side makes that veil seem much stronger than it is.

but my sweet friend that veil, that wall, that fear hymen is YOURS and yours alone. you determine it’s strength. SPEAK your heart. MOVE your body how you see fit. CREATE as you desire. EXPLORE your surroundings.

wether that veil that fear is yours or theirs—fuck it.
